4. NORTH AMERICAN UNION: American Police Officers To Police Canada & Vise Versa

In regards to the maritime matters on the Great Lakes, the Toronto Police Marine Unit, (one of the largest marine police units in the world by the way), have assisted or been assisted by American counterparts during maritime emergencies along Lake Ontario's mutual boarder and drug interdiction.

Similar untertakings occur frequently off the coastal waters of B.C./Wash. and Alaska and the maritime provinces and the New England states, particularily Maine, and along the Great Lakes boundries by both countries and Federal, state/provincial, or municipal enforcement/rescue agencies.

Check out the co-operation between the R.C.M.P. and the Alaska State Police during medical, or criminal investigations?in the Yukon Terr. and the State of Alaska, boarder country.

Further?during the great Toronto Fire in the early part of the 20th centrury a number of American fire Departments were shipped by rail and lake boats to assist the Toronto Fire Dept. and southern Ontario fire departments?in putting out the confligration which destroyed the downtown part of Toronto.

Windsor and Detroit for years have had a receprical agreement, endorsed by Prov., State, and Fed govts. during emergent situations.

This may turn out to be?a tempest in a teapot, or...........a?NAFTA strenghtening.? Time will tell.?

This type of activity has been going on for at least a centrury between the two countries without it being given public knowledge via press releases from two govt. talking heads.

Adios.
